If you really needed a Barack Obama bumper sticker THAT bad, you should have just asked! I got mine for free from the campaign, and I’m sure you could have too. They would have given you a nice, new one too, instead of the 3/4 of a sticker that you took off my car. If you’d like, you can even get a whole pack of stickers from the Barack Obama website, with a small donation. I think $5 is all it takes. Pretty sweet, huh?
What’s so nice about this country is that we have Freedom of Speech, as outlined in the Bill of Rights. I’m sure you know all about it, but just in case you didn’t, here’s what it says:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
That’s the great thing about your new Barack Obama bumper sticker. You have the Constitutional right to proudly display it on your personal property. So, no need to worry that anyone will retaliate against you for it. And besides, it’s just a bumper sticker! Nobody would do that. LOL.
Even for those very few people that don’t show respect for things like Freedom of Speech, there’s this other theory, called The Golden Rule, and it’s pretty much universally accepted. It basically says, “One should treat others as one would like others to treat oneself.” So in other words, don’t worry! I’ll try to make sure that nobody touches your shiny new Barack Obama sticker. :)
